Butterscotch Martini Girl Blog Takeover: Meet HD Thomson!

Thanks so much for having the Butterscotch Martini Girls, Cheyenne!

I’m H.D. Thomson and I love writing romantic suspense with just a bit of the strange. I throw in a couple with ordinary or semi-ordinary backgrounds and pepper in odd and bizarre situations. Of course, one of the main ingredients is usually a very sick and twisted villain! 🙂

I loved writing about Malcolm, the villain, in Anxiety. I wanted him to be three-dimensional and a man capable of love. People always have the option to make choices in life, and unlike many of us with a deep moral code, Malcolm has left that code far behind and traveled a path that has turned dark and unforgiving.

Again, thanks for inviting me and the rest of the Butterscotch Martini Girls! 🙂

The awesome HD Thomson!

H.D. Thomson moved from Ontario, Canada as a teenager to the heat of Arizona where she graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.S. in Business Administration with a major in accounting. After working in the corporate world as an accountant, H.D. changed her focus to one of her passions-books. She owned and operated an online bookstore for several years and then started the company, Bella Media Management. The company specializes in web sites, video trailers, ebook conversion and promotional resources for authors and small businesses. When she is not heading her company, she is following her first love-writing.

Jake Preston is on borrowed time. If he doesn’t stumble upon a miracle and soon, he’ll end up dead. And even if he does, he still might end up dead with a clever killer hounding his heels. He believes that the one miracle and antidote to save him is in Margot Davenport’s house, across the country and miles away from Boston. Somewhere locked in her home is the key to reversing an experiment that is killing him with each breath he takes.

Margot doesn’t particularly care if she ends up dead. She’s lost

everything she’s ever cared for. A divorce and the loss of her job as a corporate lawyer has left her with little faith in herself or in anyone else. Most importantly, she’s lost the one person on this earth she’s looked up to and cherished–her brother, Johnny. His death in a car accident has devastated her, and she can’t find the willpower to pull herself from the chasm she’s fallen into. Her only solace is at the bottom of a wineglass. Having moved back to the small town in northern Arizona where she was raised, she’s made a point of isolating herself both mentally and physically from everyone other than a few chosen friends. Little does she know that her life is going to explode into chaos.

Thanks, H.D.!

About cheymccray

Cheyenne McCray is an award winning, New York Times and USA Today Best Selling author who is a rare native Arizonan but refuses to be put behind glass as an endangered species. In her spare time she loves to torture characters--whether they're misbehaving or not—and kill off deserving individuals. She also totally gets off on blowing things up. All fictionally, of course. She'd rather chew glass than write sweet and sugary. Give her a hideous demon or particularly nasty villain to slay any day. Cheyenne enjoys creating stories of love, suspense, and redemption—in some cases. She enjoys building worlds her readers can get lost in. Hopefully they'll find their way out, but stranger things have been known to happen. If you would like to find out what odd and unusual things Cheyenne is up to these days, cruise her website any time, take a look at the bizarrely normal yet strange FAQs, and even drop her a line or two. Just not too hard—those things hurt. You might even learn a few things about that kinky author, Jaymie Holland. (Just don't tell Cheyenne's mom.

  1. Penny, I also have a Shades series that I’ve start. I’ve currently writing the third book. They’re short reads. I’ve always loved a smart and intelligent villain..:)

Sorry, Lorraine, my books do have some graphic detail only because I want the reader to feel the pain and loss of something tragic happening to them.
